Message From Louis Walsh
Hi Guys,
I wanted to write you all a note to say thank you for all your support to
Westlife. Face To Face has been an unbelievable success and we couldn't have
done any of it without your dedication to the boys.
Who would have thought I'd be saying this seven years ago!
I've always believed in Westlife and we've got a long way to go yet! The tour is
going to a brilliant show and I'm sure I'll see alot of you there.
With a brand new album coming later in the year, 2006 is a very exciting year
in the Westlife world!
How proud was I on the night of The Brits to have two of my acts with me. Myself,
Westlife and Shayne Ward had a great evening and they are all great guys.
Shayne is currently on the X Factor Tour, it's a great show! Check out his
website if you haven't already
www.shayne-ward.com
Anyway, thank you again for all your love and support to Westlife...You're the
most important people!
Thanks
Louis

Nicky's Diary From The Road
Hey guys,
Well I'm writing to you from sunny Melbourne. I can't tell you how great it is
to be getting some sun on our backs. We arrived this morning and have got the
whole weekend off, so I reckon we'll be hitting the pool before too long.
We'll be checking out the charts on Sunday of course though! Thanks to everyone
who's supported us by buying the single. As always, it's much appreciated. Some
of you may have caught us performing it earlier this week on This Morning and
Davina. Was so nice to see a lot of you at the studios.
Well, I'm off to work on the tan!
Much love
Nicky x

Irish stars shine at Meteor Awards

The Emerald Isle's top musical talents put on a stellar performance on Wednesday
night when a who's who of Irish celebrities turned out for the annual Meteor
Awards. Match Point heart-throb Jonathan Rhys-Myers and X-Factor judge Louis
Walsh were both among the famous faces applauding enthusiastically as big names
like U2 and Westlife were honoured for their achievements.
Guests gathered inside Dublin's Point Theatre also got the chance to see some of
the UK's biggest stars, with Jamie Cullum, The Darkness and Sugababes all
jetting in to strut their stuff. It was local boyband Westlife who made the
biggest impression, though, after scooping best Irish pop act for the sixth
year running.
When band member Shane Filan took the stage to collect the trophy, he revealed
the group are hoping to record a track with Michael Jackson. "It would be a cool
thing to do," he said. "We're all big fans."

Nicky's Diary From The Road
Hey there
Hope 2006 is treating you well so far. We all had a nice relaxing time over the Christmas period – lots of lovely presents, food and spending time with family and friends.
This week has been a fairly quiet one for us. On Wednesday we travelled to Finland to perform ‘You Raise Me Up’ at the NRJ Awards in Helsinki, which took place yesterday.
Beautiful country, but absolutely freezing cold at this time of year – it’s been around minus 17 degrees! We’ve all been wearing about three jumpers each!
That’s it for now, take care
Nicky x

Bertie's heroes go back to '60s, except Westlife
By Edel Kennedy
What do Westlife, Neil Diamond and Bing Crosby have in common?
Answer: They can count Bertie Ahern among their fans.
The Taoiseach has also revealed that the 1960s are his favourite musical era and that he pays little attention to current pop music - except Westlife, of course.
Recalling growing up in Dublin in the '60s, he yesterday told RTE's radio arts show, 'Rattlebag', that music was a big part of his life.
"I suppose our class at school used to divide a bit between whether you were a Beatles or a Rolling Stones fan," he said.
However, he named Procol Harum's 'Whiter Shade of Pale' as his favourite song of all time, saying it was linked to his memories of being a teenage boy.
Another favourite is 'You Raise Me Up' by Westlife, though he admitted he is a little biased in choosing it - his eldest daughter Georgina is married to band member Nicky Byrne. "I spend most of my Sundays talking about Westlife," he said laughingly.
His other musical favourites include 'Sweet Caroline' by Neil Diamond and 'Silent Night' by Bing Crosby.
But the 1950s hit, 'How Much is That Doggie in the Window' by Patti Page, holds a very special place in his heart. "It's the first song I can remember," he said. "My mother used to sing it to me."
Favourite
Speaking about his favourite books, he plumped for history and the GAA. A recent book about the life and work of Sean Lemass is among his preferences, as well as Dessie Farrell's memoir of his eventful time with the Dublin team, 'Tangled Up In Blue'. He also spoke of the recent changes to tax exemption for artists, and supported Finance Minister Brian Cowen's decision to cap tax-free earnings at €250,000.
"I think what we've done is fair and reasonable and I don't think it will affect too many people," he said.
