Review
Here's another DVD release from those five cheeky Irish fellas known collectively as Westlife. This time it's a DVD single, and because it is "non chart eligible" more can be added to the release. World of our Own is the second single from their third album (also called World of our Own) and has just become their tenth number one. It's a more upbeat song than we're used to from Shane, Mark, Nicky, Kian and Bryan and a lot less offensive on the ears than you'd expect. It's catchy and the accompanying video whilst not a great work of art by any means is nice to look at. Next on the disc is a short Making of...for this video. It's the usual mugging to camera type thing and will appeal to their young fans. Some of the crew are interviewed as well but give little away about the technical side of the shoot. Studio Recording section is exactly what you'd expect. Here the five fellas are in the studio recording the track, it all looks too jolly to be the real thing but hey this is show business and could well be. Again this is a short piece really an excuse for fans to see the boys mucking about. Last, but by no means least is another video, this time for the fan favourite Angel. This is a moody black and white piece for a song that's not as strong as the main title. It's the usual power ballad that they are experts in. Image is 1.85:1 anamorphic and is a great transfer. Colours are sharp and bold with bags of detail, even during the dark opening shots. The stereo sound is perfectly clear and just the right mix, without overdosing on bass. The menu is animated with sound effects over the top.

This box set has all four Westlife DVDs in one special, strictly limited edition set. Only a certain number (I think 2000) sets were made. Packaged in a beautiful presentation box, it includes: Where Dreams Come True, Coast To Coast, the original Westlife Story and the brand new Unbreakable The Greatest Hits Volume One DVD. Where Dreams Come True features a fantastic live performance from their sell-out tour to make your dreams come true. This is a chance to have Kian, Bryan, Nicky, Shane and Mark perform live in your living room! Filmed in front of a devoted home crowd at The Point in Dublin, this full-length concert features all their number one hits, the Westlife favourites and a few surprises. Coast To Coast was the infamous album launch - a thirty six hour media extravaganza during which the band met fifteen thousand fans in four cities. All the action was caught on film, as well as an exclusive performance, plus plenty of behind-the-scenes footage of the Westlife boys... as if being woken up at 5:15 am, after only forty five minutes of sleep isn't awful enough, the camera is already rolling and fans are waiting in the hotel lobby... "It's like being on Big Brother!" says Nicky. The Westlife Story was the first Westlife DVD to be released, featuring Westlife videos presented with lyrics, a photo gallery, web-links, a behind-the-scenes peep at a photo shoot and a documentary charting the progress of the band from its outset. It includes a profile of each of the lads as well as interviews with their school teachers and co-manager Ronan Keating. Unbreakable The Greatest Hits Volume One is once again packed full of extras. A unique interactive interview that will enable the viewer to see loads of unseen footage, including clips of IOU - the band before it became famous, a tricky trivia quiz to test your knowledge of the five Irish lads and once you've proved that you're a true fan, you'll be treated to previously unseen bonus footage. Also included are hidden out-takes of the boys (if you can find them). It also features eighteen Westlife music videos including Unbreakable and two videos produced for the US which many fans would never have seen before. In between the videos, the lads and Simon Cowell reminisce about the early days in a brand new, previously unseen interview filmed in Malibu in August 2002. The interview is frank, witty and tells the Westlife story as it's never been told before.
